Participants
The IDERHA project's workshop on the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) took place on 15th of May 2024 and gathered 27 participants from 11 different beneficiaries and selected external partners.
Aims
The workshop aimed to provide insights into the OMOP CDM answering questions like:
- Why do we use it?
- How does it look like and where to get the database model?
- How to set up an OMOP environment for data analysis?
- How to insert the provided synthetic dataset?
- How to analyse the data in the database?
The technical part included example queries, their output and how to interpret them. Furthermore, visualizations based on synthetic data were demonstrated and discussed. The workshop also included open discussions about quality, certifications and additional tools which could be used.
Key findings
- There already exist tools and applications that can be used to analyze OMOP data.
- The correct implementation of OMOP databases is crucial for interoperability.
- Data quality is essential for reliable analysis results.
- The EHDEN academy provides courses and trainings for the use of OMOP and tools provided by OHDSI.
