As IDERHA is actively working to set up, pilot and run a pan-European health data platform focusing initially on Lung Cancer Screening and (Early-stage) Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Care, it was clear that a multi-faceted Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) should be assembled. The goal was to make a multi-professional board including internal and external opinion leaders.
The CAB was set up to monitor and comment on the clinical use case project plans, to interpret the results and experiences of the use case projects, to assess and report on the clinical practicality and impact of the IDERHA platform, to suggest adaptions of the IDERHA platform from the clinical perspective and to provide counselling of IDERHA consortium partners regarding clinical aspects (throughout the entire project time).
The Clinical Advisory Board is selected through a meticulous process that aims to include diverse and competent members who can contribute effectively to their respective areas. The IDERHA CAB co-coordinators generated a list of potential candidates that are experts and specialists in Lung Cancer, PROM/PREM, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and IT-/Networking fields. The co-coordinators of the CAB are:

- Dr. Rebecca C. Graebig-Rancourt (MSB, Berlin, Germany) - Molecular Biologist-Epigenetics
- Dr. Rosario Garcia Campelo (SERGAS, A Coruña, Spain) - Oncologist, Thoracic Oncology
- Portal Ramos Vieiro (SERGAS, A Coruña, Spain) - Research Management
The CAB is now complete with nine members representing various countries (Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, UK and USA) and is made up of three- External Lung Cancer KOLs; three- AI/ML specialists; one- PROM/PREM specialist; and two- IT specialists. The majority of our CAB and coordinating team are comprised of licensed medical doctors (8 in total), and researchers leading work in fields such as: pulmonology, thoracic oncology, cardiopulmonary imaging, digital health and interoperability, AI in healthcare and disease systems biology.
