Prestigious prize for IDERHA member Daniel Rückert
Prof. Dr. Daniel Rückert received the prestigious Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize this year. The Leibniz Prize is awarded by the German Research Foundation to exceptional scientists and academics for their outstanding achievements in the field of research.
Daniel Rückert has been at the forefront of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning into medical imaging. His groundbreaking research has led to the development of advanced algorithms that enhance the reconstruction, analysis, and interpretation of biomedical images. These innovations have not only accelerated imaging processes but also introduced new techniques for reconstructing CT and MRI data, ultimately improving the precision and personalization of disease diagnosis and treatment.
These new techniques are also of importance to IDERHA in which Daniel is involved in WP2. He is responsible for the development of algorithms for CT-scans in lung cancer.
