IDERHA Mid-Term Review confirms strong progress

News News

The IDERHA project has reached its halfway point, with a positive Mid-Term Review highlighting its achievements and identifying clear priorities for the next phase.

As a project funded by the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), IDERHA is subject to a Mid-Term Review in which independent experts assess progress by examining project plans, reports, and deliverables, as well as engaging directly with the consortium. This process results in a consensus report outlining recommendations for the final phase of the project. The review, conducted in February 2026, confirms that IDERHA is making solid progress while also offering valuable, forward-looking guidance to further enhance its impact.

The outcome of the review is highly encouraging. IDERHA received the second-highest possible overall assessment, with reviewers concluding that “the project has achieved most of its objectives and milestones for the period, with relatively minor deviations.” They also recognised the effective implementation of this ambitious and highly complex project, highlighting close collaboration across partners and steady progress in delivering planned results.

In addition to this positive assessment, the review provided constructive recommendations aimed at further strengthening the project’s work and increasing its overall impact. Three key priorities emerged: accelerating data access and data partner onboarding, improve the impact of external communication, and secure the sustainability of IDERHA’s assets to ensure long term impact.

We greatly appreciate the detailed and well-informed feedback provided by the reviewers and fully align with their assessment. As Philip Gribbon, Scientific Coordinator of IDERHA, reflects: “If we had fully achieved all our goals and objectives already at this stage of the project, our ambitions wouldn’t have been set high enough at the start.”

The insights from the review provide clear direction for the next stage of IDERHA, that have been discussed at our recent annual consortium meeting. We look forward to taking these recommendations forward in the coming years and continuing to build on the robust foundation already established.
