Help us explore the key themes in reusing health data

In our ongoing efforts to support data holders in addressing the challenges of sharing health data for secondary use, we need your input!

The aim of this Expression of Interest is to bring together stakeholders interested in collaborating with the IDERHA team to shape consensus-based, practicable recommendations that support data holders in addressing the real-world challenges of sharing health data for secondary use. We hope you will consider participating in this work and contributing your expertise to help ensure the recommendations are both robust and feasible in practice. 

Our work to date has identified several key themes influencing data holders’ experiences and decision-making (check the draft report here). In 2026, we look forward to engaging with stakeholders across the field to explore these themes in greater depth and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations.

To reduce reputational risk for data holders by embedding trust-building measures into health data-sharing policy and infrastructure.
To embed fair, transparent, and sustainable benefit-sharing mechanisms into the health data ecosystem, ensuring that data holders are appropriately recognised, supported, and rewarded for enabling secondary data use.
