An excellent occasion in raising the profile of IDERHA
IDERHA meets in Berlin at the 23.11.2023 workshop on Creating Value from the Secondary Use of Health Data: International Examples, Best Practices and Opportunities for Scale.
IDERHA made a great showing, peaking lots of interest with Christian Muehlendyck and Philip Gribbon highlighting the approach, aims and infrastructure driving IDERHA as well as giving a comprehensive overview of sustainability lessons learnt from the EOSC-LIFE Consortium.
The well attended event was made up of participants from industry and academia of multi-discipline backgrounds.
The workshop involved 6 main presentations, then breaking up into a ‘World Café’ of discussion tables with sessions covering: problematization, finding solutions (e.g. data quality assessment and deliverables, and funding/financial sustainability). This well attended event was made up of participants from industry and academia of multi-discipline backgrounds meeting together in the Einstein Centre Digital Future, Robert-Koch-Forum, Mitte-Berlin. Organizers were from Freie University Berlin, European New School of Digital Studies, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, IT University Copenhagen, and Charité.
This was an excellent occasion in raising the profile of IDERHA, driving discussion, and absorbing the key challenges/points (such as sustainability) together with various players in the digital and health-sector community such as Fraunhofer, Janssen/Johnson & Johnson, Reaktor, Honic, Gematik, TU-Berlin, TU- Dresden, Cemer, Bundesdruckerei, INAV/MHH, etc.
Interesting discussions covering topics such as the need for best practices, what are promising cases for use, and suitable business models to build around, and networking were among the positive outcomes along with the great opportunity for the German based IDERHA team members to meet up for important planning and thought-strategy.
